First 5 Ventura County and Ventura County Office of Education are pleased to announce that the CARES (Comprehensive Approaches to Raising Educational Standards) and AB212 Stipend Projects now have a single application process for both private and publicly-funded early education programs.

The CARES/AB212 Stipend Project encourages early learning professionals to obtain higher levels of education by taking college units that apply towards the Child Development Permit, and/or a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. To enroll in the CARES/AB212 Stipend Project:

  1. Complete the Information and Entry Form (click here for English or Spanish)
  2. To be considered, entry forms are due in the V.C.O.E. office no later than 10 am on July 18, 2008

It is highly recommended that everyone interested in being selected to participate in the FY 2008-2009 stipend project attend an orientation. Dates and times for orientations for the CARES/AB212 stipend project are as follows:
