First 5 is charged with making a difference in the lives of Ventura County children and families through a network of health, early learning and family strengthening programs in partnership with our 11 community based Neighborhoods for Learning.

But how do we know that we are effectively reaching children--that our programs are of the highest quality? How we do we ensure that First 5 continues to evolve with the needs of the local community?

We work closely with the First 5 Ventura County Commission, our funded partners, parent, healthcare and education providers and experts in the fields of evaluation and quality improvement. This work guides our program development and funding and helps us make sure that we are doing our best to support young children and families in Ventura County.
